Kenwood TK3230 UHF Protalk Radio
The Kenwood TK3230 UHF Protalk Radio may be considered a business and on-site radio. Being the most recent ProTalk family member being smaller yet stronger, it’s built is compact and lightweight, is equipped with menu driven innovative features, and has a lighted display which shows user status icons. This radio is ideal for settings such as in restaurants, educational, retail and the service industry.
It is powered by 1.5-watts with 6 pre-programmed UHF business frequencies or 56 built in UHF frequencies the user can choose
from. The device also has 38 conventional sub-channels/privacy tones and 83 additional digital sub-channels/privacy tones. The Kenwood TK3230’s UHF 6 channel-on site radio can be used conveniently around industrial job sites, and is more durable as well. It has up to 18 hours of talk time with its features such as wireless cloning, FleetSync PTT ID display (Selcall, Group, All Call) and multiple signaling formats. It is designed with a renowned audio just like its previous models and is considered tough enough for rigid Military Standard qualifications. The radio weighs only 5.5 ounces and offers an incredible up to 18 hours of talk time.
The FleetSync PTT Caller ID enables programming from radio or by using an FPU to program up to 32 ID’s or Groups. Wireless cloning means cloning of multiple portables by a single portable by a simple push of a button (no wires or cables). Any single unit of this may be a master unit if the cloning mode is enabled using the radio controls in a prescribed sequence. When activated, the master radio clones its contents to all receptive “slave” units within an immediate area either office or room sized. Contents cloned are frequencies, signaling, and radio functionality other than FleetSync functions. The Mil-Spec Standards of this radio qualifies for 8 categories of the Mil-Spec standards MIL810C/D/E/ F.
The talk range will of course vary in different terrains and conditions. For example in open areas without obstructions there is up to 5 miles (8 km), residential areas near buildings are up to 1.5 miles (2.4 km), in steel or concrete reinforced buildings will be up to 225,000 sq. ft. (20,900 sq. m), and in high-rise buildings will be up to 17 floors.
